Kite bag collection consists of a crossbody bag and a tote bag, they both consist of a 2D flat surface that is transformed into a 3D bag through a special folding structure.

The project is inspired by the Chinese intangible cultural heritage - Nantong Plate Sparrowhawk Kite. It is an ancient traditional handicraft and festival entertainment tool, it is large and flat as a board, based on a hexagonal shape and structured into different shapes by combining and changing. The kite is equipped with several whistles on its surface and makes beautiful music when it is flown.

After conducting market research on traditional cultural products, we found that the key to inheriting traditional culture is how to integrate traditional craft into modern life and aesthetics while retaining the essence of the culture.

For the target group of post-90s youth, we chose a minimalist style. After collecting different types of kites, we extracted the shapes and experimented with different structures by origami. The result is two bag inspired by the Seven Star Harrier kite, simple and practical with a chic style.
